An interactive view for the new heart of Surrey

We created an interactive platform allowing the full exploration of King George Hub Phase D to communicate the vision to a design panel over video conference. We utilised gaming technology to enable realtime interaction and rendering. The 3D model was completely optimised and rebuilt for realtime compatibility and the context, people and other props were modelled and added. The application enabled the panel to view the design and it's impact on the surroundings from every angle which led to unanimous approval.

This animation is captured in realtime as the user explores the scheme. Bookmarks enable quick navigation to key areas.

As the application was created in a gaming engine it allowed us to capture animations and images from any location. The quality of lighting and realism isn't as high as traditional rendering but there are significant advantages in render cost and flexibility.

I haven’t been involved with a model like this before and was very apprehensive about the amount of time and level of detail required to direct and coordinate the effort, but honestly, what was achieved with the messy model and little input we provided is just amazing! Already recommended you for another project in the office and hope to work with you more on this or any other projects.
